Kecharis Monastery Complex βͺ
The Kecharis Monastery Complex is located in Tsaghkadzor and is one of the important spiritual and cultural monuments of medieval Armenia.
The complex developed between the 11th and 13th centuries and consists of several churches and chapels. The main church is St. Gregory the Illuminator, built in the 11th century. The complex also includes the churches of St. Sign and Katoghike St. Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God).
For centuries, Kecharis was an important spiritual and educational center. Religious figures and scholars worked here, and the monastery played an important role in preserving Armenian culture and its manuscript heritage.
Today, Kecharis is surrounded by the beautiful nature of Tsaghkadzor and is one of the cityβs main attractions. During your visit, you can admire beautiful examples of medieval Armenian architecture, see traditional khachkars, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this ancient monastery.
